Ascend STEM Academy Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 23, 2026
Ascend STEM Academy is a Florida private umbrella school for homeschool families. To keep your child’s official school records we have to collect some personal information, and we take that responsibility seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
About your family and student. Parent or guardian name, email, phone number and permanent mailing address; your child’s name, date of birth, grade and other enrollment details.
Enrollment documents. The documents Florida requires for school enrollment, such as your child’s birth certificate, Florida School Entry Health Exam (Form DH 3040) and Certificate of Immunization (Form DH 680) or Religious Exemption (Form DH 681).
School records. Attendance and time cards, courses, grades, progress reports, transcripts and graduation records. If you choose to share an IEP, 504 plan or other learning information, we keep it with your child’s file.
Orders and payments. What you buy and your billing and shipping details. Payments are handled by our payment processor (WooPayments); we do not store full card numbers.
Accounts and games. Your website login, and progress and purchases in our axolotl learning games, which are saved to the student account used to play.
Website use. Like most websites, we collect device, browser and usage information through cookies and similar tools, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, Jetpack statistics, and embedded services such as Google reviews and YouTube videos.
Messages. What you send us by email, phone, forms or booked calls.
2. How we use it
- To enroll your child, maintain official school records and meet Florida private school requirements, including filing the required notice with your school district.
- To issue transcripts, diplomas, progress reports, IDs and verification letters you request.
- To process orders and payments and ship items.
- To answer your questions and send important updates about enrollment and deadlines.
- To run, secure and improve our website and games.
- To send news and offers, only if you agree; you can unsubscribe at any time.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With Florida school authorities when the law requires it, such as the notice filed with your school district or a records request from a school your child transfers to.
- With people you ask us to send records to, such as colleges, scholarship programs or employers receiving a transcript or verification letter.
- With service providers who help us run the school and the website, such as our web host, payment processors, email and analytics providers. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
- When required by law or to protect the safety of a student, our families or our school.
4. Children’s privacy
Information about students is provided by their parent or guardian as part of enrollment. Our games are designed for students and are played through an account set up by the family. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without a parent’s consent. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.
5. How long we keep it
Official school records such as transcripts and graduation records are kept permanently, as schools are expected to do, so they are available whenever your child needs them. Other information is kept only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires.
6. How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards, including secure connections, restricted access to student files and trusted service providers. No method of storing or sending information online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
- Ask to see or get a copy of the information we hold about you or your child.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete information we are not required to keep as part of the school record.

- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some site features may not work without them.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will let enrolled families know.
